NOLA anniversary

In continuation of our long Memorial Day weekend, Hubs and I left BR on Sunday morning and went down to New Orleans.  It had been a while since both of us have been together in New Orleans, so it was a fun day of walking around the quarter and enjoying the yummy food and drinks NOLA has to offer.
Just another day in the quarter... a street band.

We made a stop at Johnny's PoBoys for lunch.  They were large, messy, and delicious!

Then we walked to Jackson Square for a touristy picture, of course.

We then decided to take a stroll down Bourbon St and stopped in Pat O's Piano Bar for some AC and refreshments.

I bought new sunglasses.  :)
Anniversary presents!

Note that my wrapping versus Hubs is a little different.

Much better...
Mignon Faget earrings!  Which I returned because I'm a bad wife and couldn't decide if I liked them or not.  But Hubs was cool with it.  :)

Cocktails at the Ritz (which was connected to our hotel) before our anniversary dinner.

We ate at Muriel's in Jackson Square at the advice of a friend.  It was very good!
Pedicab ride back to the hotel!
Needed to make a quick phone call.
We decided to try our luck at the casino for a spell.  And we won $50!

And one last stop before going home...

Beignets at Cafe du Monde!

Happy 6th Anniversary to my amazing Hubs.  So blessed.  :)

Much love,

Carrie's Quads, Continued

I'm sure most of you remember a while back when I wrote about Carrie's Quads.  I love me some Carrie Underwood.  And when I heard that she was playing at Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge, Hubs and I made plans to go.

Bayou Country Superfest began about three years ago.  It's a two-day concert on Memorial Day Weekend in Tiger Stadium with country artists playing back to back.  Our wedding anniversary happens to fall on Memorial Day Weekend, so we thought it would be a good time to try and go down  to Baton Rouge and make a weekend trip out of it.  Papa G, Mama Rach and AK were happy to take the kiddies for the weekend, so we dropped them off in Shreveport and headed down to BR on that Friday night.
We stayed with our dear friends, the Kirbmeisters.  They recently moved back to BR from Colorado, so we got to spend some quality time with them.  On Saturday, Mrs. Kirbmeister and I went to get mani/pedis while the boys went to hit some golf balls at the driving range.  We met up with the guys and ate lunch at The Chimes (our must-eat when in BR).

Mr. and Mrs. C-Kirb

LLK (you'll notice I have many nicknames for these folks)

When we made it to campus, we got to hang out more dear friends, Leigh and Lenny!

(Side bar: Just try us with some FRIENDS trivia.  We will school you.)

After walking around for a little bit, we then made our way into Tiger Stadium.  It was BLAZES hot at first, but once the sun went down, it actually was pretty pleasant.  The first act was Jarod Neiman, but we missed most of his show.  Next came Eric Church and Little Big Town, who were both great.

Then came CARRIE.  And she was amazing!  I could only see her quads on the jumbo-tron, but they looked great!  ;)

After Carrie was Keith Urban and he was great as well.

I definitely want to try and make it down for this again next year. SO fun!

Much love,
E
