Tigers vs. Tigers

After traveling to Ruston for my 10-year high school reunion, Hubs' and I had plans to go to Baton Rouge the following weekend for the LSU vs. Auburn football game.  The bambinos were going to stay in Houston with Hubs' parents while we went to the game.  The grandparents decided they wanted to keep the kids for the whole week and then they would drive them back up to us the following weekend.  I was hesitant at first, as that's a long a time without the kiddies, but I know how much the grandparents wanted to spend some time with the kids, so we agreed.  We drove down to Houston on Thursday night and got there around 10.
We left Friday morning around 8, and got to Baton Rouge at lunchtime and headed straight for Sammy's to eat some yumminess.  I did a little shopping around town that afternoon, followed by a nap before dinner at Walk On's, which is a Baton Rouge staple.
Walk On's

Saturday was full of tailgating and then watching LSU whoop up on Auburn.  It was good for the soul.

Sunday we took our time driving back to Dallas since we didn't really have anywhere to be.  And then Sunday night we were able to spontaneously go to the movies.  We went to see the new Footloose (Hubs' choice, obviously) which was awesome.  Even though we didn't have the kids for entire week, we had so much stuff going on that I don't feel like we took full advantage.  We were able to go the movies again later in the week and we saw Moneyball.  It's a great movie, but [SPOILER ALERT] just know that you don't leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling.  In fact, there was a couple that sat behind us in the theatre and when the ending credits came on, she said, "That sucked!"  hahaha.
The kids arrived back home on Friday night around 9.  They were so tired when they got home, but I was so glad to see those cutie patooties and smooch them all over!

Much love,
E
